Gift of Securities
When you make a gift of securities to Partners In Health Canada, you’re joining the fight for global health equity that has immediate impact. By donating publicly traded securities, you eliminate the capital gains tax that you’d have to pay if you sold the securities and then donated the proceeds. You will also receive a charitable tax receipt for the full market value of the securities based on the closing price the date they are received*. PIH will receive the full value of the securities, allowing your donation to help save lives around the world.
Securities can include, stocks, mutual funds, bonds, flow through shares and employee stock options. You can give now, or as part of your estate and will planning, significantly reducing the taxes payable by your estate.
