Instructions for IgnitePIHC Presentations can be research-, experience- or idea-based. Presentations will be five minutes and are required to be structured as “Short and Tweet” with the format of Ignite. What is “Short and Tweet”? “Short and Tweet” is an engaging 5 minute presentation. The audience will be encouraged to amplify your message by live-tweeting quotes from - or reactions to - your presentation. What is Ignite? During Ignite presentations, speakers share their personal and professional passions using 20 powerpoint slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds for a total of exactly five minutes. More information and example videos can be found here: Proposal Review and Selection There will be three selection factors that the reviewers will consider when looking at your proposal:

Alignment – How aligned is your proposal to the values and goals of Partners In Health Canada?

Impact and Importance – Will your presentation make a positive and inspiring impact? If presenting research, what are the implications of the findings and why is this important to global health?

Quality – The proposal must be well-written and demonstrate thorough attention to detail.

Only five applicants will be accepted. Two will be accepted specifically from the Students for Partners In Health applicant pool, and three will be accepted from the Open To Public applicant pool. All accepted presenters will be rewarded with a Certificate of Accomplishment. Proposal Submission To be considered, proposals must include detail sufficient enough for evaluation, while not exceeding 250 words. Each conference participant may submit only one proposal for presentation. If more than one proposal is submitted by the same conference participant, only the first abstract submitted will be considered. Applicants may submit their proposal here.
